Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!
Take 2.
Had this ready to hit send. And somehow lost the whole post.
Got the rear brake back together. So it moves easy now. Tuesday though I had turned into a 6ft 1" 220 lb weakling. Could not walk this bike backwards. Found the rear brake was stuck on after changing out the old fluid.
So got it out today. While it was warming up, got my gloves and helmet on. Sun is shinning, warm high was 40 degrees. But the wind chill was only 33 degrees. Had my (was getting hot in the jacket with a T shirt on)Arctic Armor jacket on. Rode 1 mile to the next road, turned and came back. Every bad spot in the road, and our road is bad. Felt like I was hitting a 2x4. Checked the air in front and rear. Rear 35 lbs but the setting may still be on 1? Front had 14 lbs of air in them?
Bike ran good, so will try out a longer ride Sat. If I get tags and Insurance on it by then. Need to clean it up good. Also finish up what I still need to do. Oil Change and coolant flush. Along with new speedo cable and if that does not fix it. I have the metal drive deal for the front axle also.
Thanks will adjust it. That was what was in there. Guessing the guy before me put that much in there. I only checked the front. That must be the reason it felt like a log wagon.
Did replace the oil in the rear shocks. And will get around to the front soon.
Again Thanks.
Pete
I'm a heavy guy and used to run 40-50 lbs air in the rear with dampening set at 2 or 3. Worked fine for 17 years. I changed the shock oil every 3 years and usually used ATF fluid. Then the inevitable oil seal failed and I switched to progressive rears. Sure wish it had failed years ago as the new rear shocks definitely out perform the factory ones.

Thanks If I keep it, figure I will swap both front and rear out. But still not sure I will keep it that long. Have a couple of trips planned. Then may sell it and get a smaller bike.
As what ever It is, will be going on the bed of my Kenworth T600. We start traveling after August this year. So camper will be following the Kenworth. And a bike behind the sleeper.
Believe it or not! Putting on reading glasses and a bright light helps.. Yes one shock was set on 4. The drivers side was on 1. That might have been some of the issue.
Went for a short ride yesterday. Only 5 miles but still felt good. Now I only like changing the oil. But opened up the filter, it only has one o-ring the big one inside. Wondering if that is all? But could have sworn the book shows 2 for the oil filter. I do have 2 o-ring kits, so guess I can match up the smaller one if it needs it also.
The oil filter valve/bolt which holds the oil filter cover plate on has a small o-ring and the actual cover plate has the large o-ring. Those are the only 2 o-rings for the filter assembly.
There is a steel flat washer part # 92022-1012 which fits between the spring and the bottom of the filter cartridge and this may be what you believe to be an o-ring, I'm not sure which illustration you are looking at.

There are two orings. A 3mm thick and the small one for the by-pass valve. See PAGE/ 6-6 ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM .
Now most people will use the 4mm oring , but OEM for the voyager is a 3mm oring.... After market filters will most likely have the 4mm. I use the K&N OIL filter KN-401 and purchase the 3mm oring directly from KAWASAKI.
I was planning on taking a ride today, sitting here looking at the sunshine and the trees not being blown by 40 mph wind. but on going outdoors it showed a temp of 32 deg. I think I will sit this one out..... unless it rises to at least 40 deg.

In my old age I’m getting really wimpy. I won’t even think about riding unless it’s at least In the 50s but I much prefer it being in the 70s . On long trips I have to take what I get but i sure do notice the difference in my comfort when the temps drop below 70.
Thanks on the info about the O-ring. I will pick up a 3mm if my 3mm is not the same.
As for riding, don't talk like that. Took the front wheel off after church today. Found the left side caliper had oil on it. Not sure how in the world it and the pads got oil on them. Took the piston out and it did not show any signs of leaking. But it was not releasing all the way. right side was but not the left side. The front wheel was tough to turn.
Gears for the Speed-odometer was stick solid with some nasty looking grease. Looks like new Bearings there tight. But who ever did it, did not get the ring that turns the gears in right. Thus messed it up, glad I ordered a new one. So new parts should have it working right.
Now bad part, its 70 degrees here and sun. But we do have 15 to 20MPH winds with 40 MPH gust. But there has been over a dozen bikes riding by. And I have mine apart.
Rain the next 4 days, then be in Oxford MS to watch a kid Pitch from Princeton Friday and Sat. Might get to ride the following week.
Also brake pads, look to be made from a metal? Not normal pads, sprayed them off and can't see how any oil could soak into these? Almost a copper looking pad. They have TOKIOO TOYO C93-FF on them.
For anyone wanting to understand the last 2 letters of a disc brake part number Google "DOT Pad Codes".
I find the "faculty.ccbcmd.edu" explanation is very informative.

I learned about those codes a few years ago. Funny how most never have any ideal. How a EE rated pad is about the same as steel on steel would be.

This morning I left just before sunrise. Not much below freezing, but there sure was a heavy frost (dash and everything). I had an hour buzz on the freeway to "work". I used wool socks, ski pants, and electric jacket/glove liners under a sweater and leather jacket. At the lowest heat setting, it was about right. It was a nice sunny day; and I had to change back to cotton socks in the afternoon. Riding home about 3:30, it was 60F or so, just right for levies and a leather jacket.
I'm trying to say that I'm really glad the glacier melted a path in the driveway so I could get out. Kinda miss riding, and the bike is running great. I-25 between Santa Fe and Las Vegas (the real one, in New Mexico) runs between mesas on the south and mountains on the north -- not bad for superslab.
Planning a trip to the Left Coast in a couple weeks. Yahoo, it's SUMMER!

I did get a nice 120 mile ride in today as it did get into the 50s
then I brought it home and had to wash the salt out from under it.
I wanted to take a ride today. Highs 69 to 70 degrees and plenty of sun shinning here in West Tn. No wind and man it would have been a great evening to ride.
But until I get the slap out of the handle bars. Not getting back out much. After I get that figured out. Watch out will ride everyday its not pouring down rain.
Drizzle all day here. And it usually blows your way.

(Sorry)
The Storm that killed all those people. Came through here 11pm, then turned north to I-40 then back east along I-40. When it came through North ms and into Tn along the Tn river. It was bad, but we only got high winds and 5+" of rain out of it.
Called my wife as she was just South of Nashville that night. She did not know anything was going on. Nephew of mine was within 1/8 of a mile of it in Nashville. No damage at there house, but leveled within site of them.
Nails the sad part we have joked for years. That if a Hurricane came through west Tn. We would have a party. Last fall we had the CAt2 hit here. Eye of that storm was still hanging on. 101 MPH winds and first time I have been inside the eye of a Hurricane like that.
I'm thinking about moving to OK. We know the storms along the KS and OK line are a given.
We lost a home in 1991 Twister F5 left a perfect concrete slap. House was 120 yds east of the slap. Some of our stuff was 1.7 miles away. Still thank god everyone was gone that day. Semi Reefer trailer parked at my shop. It moved it 90 yds. Sat it down on top of small tree.
I don't like storms anymore. The Cat 2 Hurricane got our roof, carport and around 1200 trees on our 56 Acres. Plus no power for 9 days.
Short video and the roads blacktop, but looks like a dirt road.

Took off the front plastic today. All frame bolts are tight. Went over everything I was told to check out . Nothing was found wrong.
BUT, you know there's always a BUT. And most will never guess what was wrong. Nope it was not that, or was it that. But it was that. Click For Full-Size Image. Click For Full-Size Image.
It may be me, but don't see any inserts in there. So someone else had the fender off. But did not put the inserts back in there. So wonder if this is why I got a good deal on this bike? Carb's were just a small piece of it.
