Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

2nd and a half
A couple of times now i have shifted half way between 2nd and 3rd. I tend to shift gently and power on gently - but I guess I better be more firm with my toe - can't be good for the trans! I immediately clutch in and finish the shift - I don't think I've had this issue before and thought I'd just post about it.

How many miles on your bike? The P.O. may have been hard on the trany and the selector forks may be bent or worn. I know one person that picked up a spare trany from ebay and them swapped it out when the selector forks broke.

Still under 15k The rest of everything is great - even rubber parts are soft and pliable like the carb boots etc.

Re: 2nd and a half
Even if the P.O. was abusive, I wouldn't think the selector forks would be damaged or shot with such low milage. My current vxii has 75k on it and I think I've experienced the same thing maybe 3 times. Also I've not heard of a trany failure with less than 60k miles. They will usually last as long as the motor if properly cared for. There's vxii's out there with 300k miles on them. One Fritz Wells (the masked rider) had 321k on his when it broke. I asked him about what caused his engine to fail and he said he was definitely doing something he shouldn't have been doing.
I've lost contact with him and miss his expertise and friendship on this forum.

Re: 2nd and a half
Ya thanks for the feedback - I figured it was just that I didn't kick it sufficiently to get a full shift... it only happened when I was really lazy baby-shifting - but I did it twice in a month. I'll be more deliberate and expect it'll be fine

I did that occasionally
,until I adjusted the shift lever slightly lower, reminding me when I put my toe under the lever to come up on it a little more firmly
