Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!
I mounted/installed a Shinko 777 rear tire yesterday and checked that it was balanced right this morning (basically while warming the oil for a change). This was just 7 miles or so on the freeway plus about 3 miles of fresh gravel on chipseal getting there.
Good to hear. I put a 777 on my rear but have yet to get the bike into full operation so I can't say that I've tested it yet. My 777 front tire is sitting in the garage waiting for me to get around to installing it.
Okay, I never got back to this. After several thousand miles, I do indeed like the Shinko 777 on the rear. Performance-wise (and compared to my benchmark RT66), I forgot I even had a different tire. I still think it's quieter, which is a big deal to me. (I'm going in to start the hearing-aid process this very afternoon.) I've gotten used to less noise but probably would notice if I switch to a different tire. But I'm going to stick with these for a while, and it'll probably be my next front tire.
I just put a HD777 on the rear of mine. The Conti Tour had 7k+ miles of 2 up riding. It had a tread separation / side wall bubble develop. Didn't blow up but You could feel it. Anyway while waiting for Conti to warranty the tire and they did send me a free tire replacement, I put the shinko on so I could ride. Still running the Conti front it has 8k miles on it and looks good.
PS I cant help but think a car tire would be nice for 2 up riding like we do... these MC tires are crazy priced and dont seem to last very long.
