Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
Thanks, I didn't know what the button was neither. The man I got the bike form had it on there and all kinds of plug ins under the cover on the left side of the fairing. I need to get with him and find out what to get and how it all works. That's another project.
Neal do you know what all I need??? There is so much wiring under the tank, I'm afraid to start pulling it out at this time. It wasn't in my way so I left it alone. There is a 5 pin plug there that I guess the headset plugs into, Don't know what to get or how it works. Have seen plug ins on e-bay but no clue what to get.
He has a extra fuse panel and wiring for a radar detector.
Thanks, Steven

Yes, that's the one. Some have the white and others the black. I didn't notice the price jumped that high......If I remember right we used to get them for like $12.95 each about 2 years ago.

I like the idea of the injection seat, when the other passenger gets out of line, well you know. If you believe that, I have some ocean front property in Arizona for sale.

Ron go to " drinktogo.net" they are about 15 dollars if I remember right. Fit just about any handlebar. They hold most water bottles and a 20 oz cup as well. We really like them. Dan

Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
I've got the old Marvellas cup holder with the cup. It's just sitting on my work bench. Pop the lid off the cup and it makes a perfect insulated bottle holder, and I even think it would work for the larger 1 liter bottles. I used it briefly before deciding I wanted to get The Butler.debron wrote:Pete,

Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
Hey Ron,
I've got one of the Bell cup holders on my XII. I had to grind down the width down just a tad to get it to mount on the bars but it works fine. Can get them for around $6-7 at WW or Target. I have one on my Vulcan (also a bicycle type) that has a rubber strap so it's adjustable but I can't find them anymore. I like it best because it will hold a much larger cup. The only problem with the Bell is that the large cups like the McDonalds large styrofoam cups are so tall that they will fall out if you're not careful. The 22 oz cups work great though.

Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
Ron, now you got me thinking I'll give this some thought.debron wrote:I want to get a handlebar mounted cup holder for my XII but don't want to spend $30-$60. I would like something simple that will hold 1-liter water bottles. Anyone have one they like and would recommend?
What i do know is that the standard liter bottle is probably to tall and heavy for any handlebar mounted holder. The cup would have to be very wide and deep to hold that size bottle.
I have been for the last 2 weeks responsible for keeping hydrated 12 people in the Philippines and that size was the size of choice for have enough volume without being too heavy and large for a person to drink from and carry with them.
I attached a cup holder to the right side Saddlebag storage door (the small one on top the lid), for when Shelley was riding with me, and now I use it for an extra water cup holder. I have to reach around and feel for it, but with a cozy holding a 500ml bottle works fine.
The only issue is I don't feel that the one I am using (a dash mount type) will hold a partial to almost empty without some way to restrain it. I guess I am saying that maybe it is time for me to look for a replacement for it as well.
As to what I am using on the handlebar, my son left me his Kruzer Kaddy, but I wound up taking out the swivel part as that kept loosening up the mount. I use it most with a 20oz Thermos travel coffee cup, but it would not fit larger than a 500ml bottle.
As I said, the brain cells are now working on it and I will let you know if I find an answer as down here in the SW a Liter bottle would be nice to carry.
One last thought - The size of bottle really doesn't lend to one handed operation, are you wanting one you can reach while moving, or just when you stop. Just thinkin......

Found this on Fleabay, not sure how you would use it, but it says it holds a 1L bottle.

If it's not for the ejector seat, it may be push-to-talk for a CB. I've got a PTT button there on my bike for an Air Rider radio..Bill O wrote:Steve do wrote:[img]

Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
I like to use disposable water bottles(20oz) with a screw cap and put a small nail sized hole in the top of the cap to make a "squeeze" bottle and then there is no splashing while going down the road and I don't have to remove the cap to drink.
Take care,

Re: Cup Holder for the XII???
This is what I ended up with. It's a "Barefoot Willies" cup holder made specifically for motorcycles (though that's not particularly significant.) I like that it is black (not chrome) and does not swivel. I tried it out with my preferred 1-liter water bottle and it works great. Haven't tried it with a near-empty or empty (meaning light weight) bottle yet. It also came with a standard coozy for regular 12 oz. cans and bottles.
