Cup Holder for the XII???

Post by debron »

I want to get a handlebar mounted cup holder for my XII but don't want to spend $30-$60. I would like something simple that will hold 1-liter water bottles. Anyone have one they like and would recommend?

Debron, I wanted one that looked good, not to gaudy. I got one at amazon, didn't use all the brackets, it mounted easily, chrome plated and has about 3/8 " foam insulation on the inside. Have used it several time with a open coke can, The open can will slosh when hitting bumps, a water bottle with cap should work great. This is the # form Amazon, 102-7461988-5156263 I will take a picture, see if I can figure out how to post it. I'm definitely not a computer guy.

Thanks Scott, I saw those on Amazon and wondered how they would work on the XII. We've got those weird handlebars with lots of "stuff" on them and the faux tank is close, not a lot of room. That top photo looks like a small bottle of water. Wonder if it will hold a 1-liter bottle??

Steve, I didn't have much luck with that Amazon code but you will find instructions for posting pictures on the forum here:

Ron. that is the one I got, I didn't use the bracket that goes around the handle bars, I put the small bracket under one of the screws that hold the clutch bracket in place, looks a little more cleaned up. I will play with posting pictures this afternoon, I have to do some welding on a man tractor now.

I could open it. When you turn the handle bars it does not hit the tank or cruise control, that's one thing I paid close attention to. The screw on the clutch lever was a little short, I believe it caught about 4 threads. I didn't go crazy tightening it up, it hasn't moved yet, could get a little longer screw.

Ron, the inside measurements are 2 7/8" with the foam, if you take it out 3 1/2 " Good luck. The cup holder is chrome plastic all brackets are steel or aluminum.

Steve, Your photo is too large at 1024 X 770 pixels. Maximum size allowed is 800 X 600 pixels. You need to resize it. If you don't have a graphics program you can resize it in Photobucket. Click on "Edit."

Seriously Steve, keep trying so you know for future reference. Size is the biggest problem Plus remembering to use the Img button and not the URL button.

Yes, the link works but to display the actual photo in your post you need to use the "Img" tags as Scott said. And your photo is 1024 X 770 pixels, which is too large to display. Change the height to 600 px in Photobucket and that will automatically change the width to 797 which is under the 800 limit. Then click in the "Direct" box in the Links area of Photobucket to automatically copy the address. Return to "Post a reply" here, click on the "Img" button. The cursor will be between the two img tags. Simply paste (Ctrl-v in Windows) the address and all should be well.

It should look like this:

Code: Select all

 way to hang in there Steve, some times things will get so aggravating but yet so rewarding once its beet into submission!
Use the URL button for posting links & the IMG button for pics, you can change font size, color etc.... Just play around and once you have a post ready try hitting PREVIEW instead of Submit. It will show you what the post will look like before posting and gives you a chance to make changes before submitting a post.

Hey Steve,
What is the function of the button just to the left of the "Horn" button? Curious minds want to know. I think I've seen it before, just can't remember.
