Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!
Since these are not factory pipes on my 1300, I figure they could be on any bike, so here I am on the general section. Have any of you had this happen? This bike has a kit from Norris cams that includes matched cams and mufflers. It does run noticeably better than my other 1300 or my original '83 1300. But, I've never seen a muffler get so hot as to blue like this! This is the right side muffler, but the left side is fine. I suspect some kind of blockage, but performance is too good to support that.
I've ever seen bluing much past the head pipes on any bike.
Actually, yes I have ,but it was my own fault.
Tried to quiet a set of JCWhitney mufflers by wrapping the baffles with fiberglass .
Turned the mufflers the prettiest shade of blue
You might have an obstruction in them that allowed hot gas to collect. Have you had any problem with dirt dabbers building nests around where you store your bike. I had that happen once with a little Honda 200. The completely sealed the back of the exhaust with mud.
I just got this bike last Sept. in Kentucky, and it was kept inside a nicely finished walk-out basement, so I doubt any mud-daubbers got to it, but I will be pulling the baffles out of both sides to compare. I agree that it HAS to be some kind of localized accumulation of something holding heat. I seriously doubt it is any kind of obstruction. Runs too good for that.
