Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Mystery Cable
Hi guys, today discovered a cable of significant length coiled up inside the left side of the fairing. It's got a polarized plug on it like I've seen used for battery tenders and such. I don't have a test light, so I don't know if it's hot all the time or if it's switched. It's got a waterproof cap on it, so I'm wondering if it's the power cable I've seen mentioned that usually lives behind the passenger seat.
Any ideas?
Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Re: Mystery Cable
Usually the battery mini-amp chargers are a 2 wire polarized plug such as you described. But as Rhbrandy posted it could be the intercom wiring. The difference being that the intercom is a round 5 pin DIN plug with a weather cap as well. a photo would nail it down.

Re: Mystery Cable
Duh dunno why I didn't take a picture of it. Maybe I didn't have my phone on me at the time.
It's on a really long cord, coiled up and secured with a cable tie. Looks like it would reach at least to the passenger seat.Dennis Fariello

Re: Mystery Cable
This isn't factory wiring. It might have been added for electric clothing. Time to disassemble to find out what it connects to.

Re: Mystery Cable
My money is on a battery charger. The other end, of a being used charger cable, would be hooked to the positive and negative battery terminals.

Re: Mystery Cable
Mine also has a plug like that in the left fairing. I put it there.
It's for both: battery charger and electric clothing, as well as a USB adapter so I can charge my phone (generally at the campground). I got rid of all the radio crap. I access this plug through that former CB control door.
Mine hooks straight to the battery as Triton says, through a fuse. I have a battery monitor (voltmeter) and otherwise take care not to kill the battery.
I think most electric clothing puts the plug/controller on the hem over your left thigh.

Re: Mystery Cable
That makes sense, Nails. I was thinking that's probably what it was for - as you said, both a battery charger and heated clothing, or whatever, straight off the battery. Very convenient - I froze my pertuckus off the other evening. Shopping for a heated vest!
