Good day to you all. I have been looking at this site for years. Its been a long time since my last post. So long in fact I forgot my old name and password so I guess you could say I am new. I have had a 95 Voyager for the last 6 or so years . I had a bike shop install my last tires about 3 years ago. I need a new rear so I was doing the removal myself. All parts are removed as per manual. The axel will not drive out. Installed nut over threads as to not damge them. Caliper bracket frozen on as well won't float. Any sugestions would be welcome. Please.
I have resolved this issue. The Cycle shop did not apply anti seize. I drove out the axel. Polished the axel and inside of caliper bracket. All is well .
Hey that's not fair. You are supposed to let at least one member post something helpful before you go and fix your problem and then edit your original post stating that everything is A OK.
Sorry we were napping, it is a holiday!
Glad to hear you fixed it. Shops. Hard to trust them.
You need to cut me some slack. Remember I said I forgot my original name. Thanks for your response. At this rate you know I'm going to need more help with something. At that time I promise you can help.
Every time I remove the front or rear wheel I put a dab of Never Seize on the axle just for that reason. I am the ONLY one removing and servicing the bike and I am getting too old to fight with stuck parts. Good luck!
Thanks for your concern, and advise I do most of my own service as well. This was a weak moment to help out a local shop. He is now out of bussness . While at it replaced bearings seal , brake pads and greased final drive.
