Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Done and done

Post by chicagorandy »

After all the hoo-hah and personal angst beforehand, the new iridium plugs went in just fine, the carbs are 100% in synch and I can now ride my new-to-me cycle with peace of mind.

For me the #1 and #4 plugs were a bit of a bother, but I used a standard plug socket with a U-Joint connector and they came out and went in OK. #2 & #3 again a standard sparkplug socket with a long extension and they were super easy. I did snug up all the caps on the wires.

I DO need to yank the carb stack, drill out the plugs and get the mixture screws 2 turns out but that will be a project after the riding season. I reckon if the thing has made it 28 years and 32,000 miles without them being adjusted, it can hold off a couple months more - lol

Once my new igniter arrives that of course will be installed immediately. Also waiting on a couple Partzilla orders for misc. missing cosmetic hardware and the replacement parts for the trunk light. Again, simple installs.

Now I only need the weather to moderate a tad - it's like the Mekong Delta out there today - and I can start racking up some serious miles. I'm a devout ATGATT rider (saved me once already) and when it's just too darn uncomfortable to gear up? I glady leave the cycles in the garage and go about in my Ford Escape with the A/C blasting - lol
